RIO 300×2 DC AUT

The Electrical Upsetting machine “RIO 300X2 DC AUT” is the world-wide Best-Seller in its category. This machine includes, in a robust and compact frame, two stations arranged in a double-decker horizontal configuration. It is suitable to work steel bars from 22 to 65 mm diameters. The maximum upsetting force released is rated at 200 KN. Two electrical power generators are fit in the two stations, each one releasing direct current (DC) up to about 50 KA, to heat the steel bars to upset. In order to make easier the handling, this machine is equipped with an automatic loading system, alternatively to both stations, whilst the unloading is usually carried out by a dedicated Robot, which can be also used to fed the downstream “Direct-Drive” press. The most popular application is in the production of “rear axles shafts” for industrial vehicles. The production cell consists in a couple of “RIO 300 X 2DC AUT”, facing each-other, served by a Robot to load/unload the “Direct-Drive” press. Supposing to work 60 mm diameter steel bars, to get axles with a flange 220 mm large and 20 mm thickness, it is possible to target a productivity of 75 pcs/h. Being this machine equipped with 3 phase rectifier power groups, the utility network loads are perfectly balanced, reaching a power factor above 0.9. Movements of either the “anvil” and the “hammer” are controlled by hydraulic proportional valves and 100 programs can be stored in the memory of the PLC, making the machine self-adjusting once recall each of them.
