Automatic Welding Without Removing the Protective Film: The CEMSA Case Study in Brazil

CEMSA International strengthens its position as a technology partner for automatic welding thanks to a successful collaboration with a Brazilian company specializing in the production of door locks and window and door systems.
A Complex Production Need: Welding Without Scratching
The new project involved the introduction of a lock with a stainless steel faceplate, with one non-negotiable condition: maintaining the scratch-resistant protective film intact on the exposed side throughout the production process. This was a significant technical challenge, requiring a complete rethinking of the welding approach.
CEMSA responded by developing a high-productivity automatic system capable of welding one piece every 5 seconds in a continuous cycle. The system uses “indirect” projection welding, ideal for avoiding damage to sensitive surfaces.
Quality Control, Integration, and Parameter Traceability
The system is based on a 6-station rotary table, where each phase is monitored in real time. Each individual component is associated with the welding parameters used, enabling automatic statistical control. A dedicated station verifies the mechanical integrity, while any process deviations are immediately detected and corrected. Non-compliant parts are automatically separated to ensure overall quality.

This case demonstrates how listening skills, technical expertise and design flexibility make CEMSA a reliable partner for the development of customized solutions, even in the most demanding production environments.
